Grammar Gear and Dress Code

At the Halifax Grammar School, our students are welcome to dress casually on most days of the year, while respecting a dress code that requires them to wear clothing appropriate to the occasion and the institution.

Official uniforms are not worn every day but are expected to be worn for specified formal occasions and when representing Grammar on campus or in the community. Grammar gear is worn every Monday.
Official Uniform 
All students are required to have official uniform clothing to wear for specified formal occasions such as guest speakers, special events, assemblies, Remembrance Day ceremonies, closing ceremonies, and when representing Grammar on campus or in the community.  

Please know that students are welcome to wear their official uniform clothing every Monday, and they are not required to buy any other clothing. The Grammar gear is an option, not a requirement.

Grammar Gear
Grammar gear is part of the Grammar experience, and all students are required to wear Grammar-branded clothing (Grammar gear) each Monday throughout the school year to show their school spirit.

    Our Prep School students are required to have the following items:

Online School Uniform/Grammar Gear Supplier 

Land's End offers selection, comfort, and value for the price. They provide us with the opportunity to purchase crested Grammar Gear like backpacks, cinch sacs, hoodies, sweatpants, and much more!

Note: Please allow 10-14 days for delivery of clothing during peak 'back-to-school' times.

You can access our school’s selections for both the official uniform and Grammar gear on their site by creating an account at: 
  1. Go to Land's End website
  2. Select the ‘School’ tab, located at the top of the screen.
  3. Create your student’s accounts by clicking the ‘Shop by School’ button, located near the top of the screen.
  4. In the next screen, you will need to enter our School Number – 900190463.
  5. Then you will be prompted to enter your student’s name and indicate their grade.
